Dr Eliza Filby is a contemporary historian of generational change and the author of the Sunday Times bestselling book Inheritocracy. She advises organisations around the world through Marula, her research practice exploring shifts in work, wealth and values.
Eliza writes for The Times on money and wealth, and for City AM on the future of work. She also hosts the podcast It’s All Relative and writes the newsletter Major Relate.

Dr Eliza Filby is a historian, bestselling author and broadcaster, known for her analysis of how generational change is reshaping work, wealth and modern life. She earned her PhD from the University of Warwick and has taught at King’s College London and Renmin University in China, as well as lecturing internationally, including at Harvard Law School. Eliza brings a rare blend of academic depth and real-world insight to the organisations she advises.
